Fox Ridge Speedway Track Rules 2007 |
Revised: |
All drivers competing at Fox Ridge Speedway in 2007 must purchase a track drivers license. The cost of this license is $1.00. This license must be on file with the track before a driver can receive any purse money due them. CUT OFF TIME: Cut off time is 6:45 PM. However, if you are traveling from a long distance and can't make the 6:45 cut-off time, you may call in your information and we will draw for you. This option will only be honored to individuals who contact the track in advance and supply us with the necessary information Line-ups will be Posted by the Entrance Gate Pit Shack, and on the Chalk Board by the scale. Try to line up before you come down the hill. If you are not lined up when you come down the hill, get in line before you come around to the flag stand so that we do not have to stop you to line up. It is the driver’s responsibility to know where his spot is. If any driver enters the track after the cars have gone by the flag stand, he/she will be put to the rear. If we have a pace car, and any car passes the pace car, that car will be put to the rear. Fox Ridge uses a cone start - Pole position cars set the pace to the green flag. No jackrabbit or sling shot starts. Leaders must keep a steady pace until they are given the green flag. Any driver jumping the start, will be put back one row, and the race restarted. (Front row only). Drivers are required to stay behind the care in front of them (Nose to Tail), until they are beyond the cone. If a driver passes another car, hits the cone, or goes below the cone, that driver will be docked two positions at the next caution, or if the race stays green, the driver will be docked at the scale. We will not stop the race to reposition the cars. Fox Ridge Green Flag Starts at the beginning of a race - Once the green flag is thrown, this wil be considered an official start. If a car/driver is the cause of a caution flag within the first lap, even though the lap is not yet completed, the car/driver charged with the caution will be put to the rear of the field. The rest of the field will then move straight up to fill the void of the car/driver being charged with the caution, and the race restarted. Double File Restarts – After a caution all cars are to run in a single file line up against the wall until line up is completed. Once line up is completed the leader will be alone out front and an official will give the signal to the second place car to take his/her choice of position on the track (high or low), once the second place car make their decision third place will take what’s left. The 4th place car will always start on the inside of the 3rd row and the rest of the field is to fall into place accordingly. Cautions - Drivers are allowed 1 caution, a second will result in a black flag. Those in fault of the caution will be put to the rear or black flagged pending the official’s judgment of the incident. All cars that intentionally cause a caution or purposely wait for one will be black-flagged, this includes rough driving, sitting in the corners, etc. All drivers are to remain in their cars during a caution unless permission is granted by an official. During a red flag NO ONE is allowed to work on the car if it’s on or off the track. Infield Cautions - If you spin, or stop, in the infield of the speedway, and are deemed by Speedway Officials to NOT be in a dangerous spot, the caution flag (yellow) will NOT be displayed nor the race stopped. Caution Line-Ups and Race Finish - If the half (1/2) of the field has passed the Start/Finish line before a yellow flag is out, the lap will be counted. All cars that pass the Start/Finish line before the yellow will be scored as they crossed, the rest of the field will be scored and lined up according to the previous lap. • Heat Race Finish With Caution: If the leader takes the white flag and then a yellow comes out, the Heat Race will be considered complete. Yellow/Checkered will be thrown. • Feature Event Finish With Caution: If the leader takes the white flag and then a yellow comes out, the Feature will be restarted for a Green-White-Checkered finish. Speaking With Officials DURING a race - While we strongly request that questions and/or requests for clarifications by drivers are taken care of either before or after races, in the event that a driver must speak with an official during a race, that driver should stop (under caution only, of course) at the back straight official (middle of back straight). Keep in mind that this will affect realignment time and can cause negative reactions/opinions from the fans towards the driver. Pitting - Pitting during the races is to be done in the designated area. Once a driver is done in the pits he/she is to wait for the official’s permission to enter back onto the track. If a driver does NOT stop and wait for permission he/she can be black flagged. If the race has already restarted (green flagged) the driver may not come back out onto the track unless/until another caution comes out before one (1) lap has been completed. In FEATURES ONLY drivers will be given two laps to change flat tires (on cautions only, of course). If a driver goes anywhere else to pit, that car/driver will not be allowed back onto the track. NO PITTING DURING HEAT RACES. Pit Speed - Speeds in the pits should remain at a reasonable rate. If an official feels you’re putting yourself and/or others at risk he/she will warn the driver once and the second offense will result in no pay. NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO RIDE ON CARS IN THE PITS Multiple Cars - If a driver competes in more than one division, and that driver is scheduled to compete in races which end up being back-to-back on the schedule, that driver is to park the car for the 'second' race next to the Pit Area Scales and report it to the Speedway Official there. If the driver exits the first race 'early', that driver is to report directly and immediately to the second car and begin belting in and preparing for that 'second' race. Driver will have to pay accordingly for both cars. Helmets – Anytime a car is on the track, the driver MUST have a helmet on. Conduct - Anyone who is acting in a way in which is seen inappropriate by an official will be asked to leave. Drivers are responsible for their crew and their actions. Alcohol - Consumption of alcoholic beverages in the pit area, or being under the influence of an alcoholic beverage is prohibited in the pits until the entire program is finished. If you leave the pits and have a drink, DON'T come back in the pit area until the race program is over. Car Hooks - While not REQUIRED, it is strongly suggested (and requested) that some form of an external hook be available on the front and rear of all cars for use by the Speedway Wrecking crew. Car Numbers- All cars must have their numbers posted on the front and rear of the car. Numbers are to be 6 inches in height, and are to be where they are easily read. Reflective, mirror-like, or prismatic numbers are not allowed. If a driver uses such a material, Fox Ridge will not be responsible if the car is not scored in a race due to the fact that the scorers cannot read the number. DECISIONS OF TRACK OFFICIALS ARE FINAL! DURING THE RACE CAUTIONS, WRECKERS WILL PULL CARS TO THE INFIELD. AFTER THAT RACE, CARS WILL THEN BE PULLED TO THE PIT AREA. For Legal, Insurance and Safety reasons, any one under the age of 18 must have release form signed by both parents or legal guardians in order to enter the pit area. These signatures must be notarized. In case of a single parent, this must be stated on the release form. Anyone entering the pit area, no matter what the age, will be subject to the same pit fee as all the drivers and pit personnel. Any member, owner or driver of a race team who allows a person under the age of 18 to enter the pit area without the proper release forms signed will forfeit all earnings for that car for the evening. NO EXCEPTIONS. Any one who is found in the pit area without having signed the release form and paid the pit pass fee will be charged $50.00 and then escorted off the track facility for that event. Anyone notifying security about an individual who does not have a wristband will receive $50.00 if that person is found in the pits illegally. FOX RIDGE SPEEDWAY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO FILE CHARGES AGAINST ANY INDIVIDUAL THAT KNOWINGLY ENTERS THE RESTRICTED PIT AREA WITHOUT SIGNING THE RELEASE FORM AND PAYING THE PIT ADMISSION FEE. |
